LYNNFIELD — Arthur J. Dischino, 90, of Lynnfield died Friday, Aug. 26, at the Lahey Medical Center in Burlington.

Born in Somerville on March 3, 1926, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Concetta (Defraia) Dischino.

Mr. Dischino was raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. At age 17 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served on the USS
Franklin
during World War II and earned five battle stars.

He then went to work for New England Telephone where he worked for 40 years before retiring.

Mr. Dischino was a longstanding member of the Wakefield-Lynnfield Elks Lodge.

He was the beloved husband of Mary L. (McDermott) Dischino of Lynnfield. He was the loving father of Ellen Marie Snow and her husband Stephen of Wakefield and Daniel Arthur Dischino and his wife Elizabeth of Malden. He was the grandfather of Alexander Snow and Daniel Dischino. He was the brother of Susan DiSimone of Lynnfield, Elena Macisaac of Milton, and the late Anna Cohan and Joseph, Christopher and Louis Dischino. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, corner of Grove and Salem streets, Lynnfield at 10 a.m.

Interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
