WAKEFIELD — Banks David Hill, 68, died Tuesday, July 25, at his residence.
Born in Wakefield on November 18, 1948 he was the son of the late Joseph and Ruth (Lessor) Hill.
David was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Austin Cate Academy in Strafford, New Hampshire, Class of 1966. He was a member of the West Side Social Club in Wakefield and had worked at American Mutual, The Wakefield Item, and Honda Gallery in Reading. David loved the New England Patriots and fishing in Maine, as well as travelling.
He was the husband of Charlene M. (Ellis) Hill. He was the father of Joseph Hill and his wife Catherine of Wilmington, Jennifer Sousa of Wilmington, Julie Hill of Wakefield, and the late Banks David Hill Jr. He was the stepfather of Robert Mahan and his wife Kim of
Danvers, Sharon Mahan of Seabrook, NH, and Diane Veroneau and her husband Kevin of Acton, ME. He was the brother of Margaret “Peg” Campbell of Reading. He was the grandfather of Olivia, Joseph, Julia, Kristopher, Kailee, Kolin and Makayla. He was the step-grandfather of Ashley, Amanda, Samantha, Crystal and Kyle. He is also survived by one great grandchild: Emma; his niece Stacey Cosco and her husband Pete; his nephew Matthew Campbell; and his great niece, Sierra.
A funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
