Retired owner of Viking Press; enjoyed traveling with family

Obit_Barbara-A.-Warburg_webLYNNFIELD — Mrs. Barbara Ann (McCubrey) Warburg, 85, of Lynnfield, beloved wife of the late Clyde R. Warburg, died peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2015.

Born in Portland, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Charlotte (Otis) McCubrey. Barbara is survived by her brothers and sister-in-laws, Philip McCubrey of Nashua, N.H.; David and Sandra McCubrey of Porter, Maine; George and Katy McCubrey of Parsonfield, Maine; and Barbara McCubrey of Portland, Maine, and predeceased her brothers, Donald, Richard and Robert.

Barbara and her husband Clyde were owners of Viking Press in Peabody for 20 years until her retirement in 2001, and an active member in the Peabody Chamber of Commerce and North Shore Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed spending her free time taking day trips with her husband Clyde to various New England locations and one of her favorite pastimes was a day at Crane’s Beach in Ipswich with her children and grandchildren.

Barbara leaves her children, retired Colonel Robert A. Warburg and his wife Janna of Fayetteville, N.C.; Charlotte and her husband Joe O’Connor of Topsfield; and Andrew Warburg of Lynnfield.

She also leavers her six grandchildren, Sarah and her husband Chris Douglas, Max Warburg, Kevin and Jeff O’Connor, and two great-grandchildren, Madeline and Ann Claire Douglas, as well as many special nieces and nephews

A long time resident of the town of Lynnfield and member of the Centre Congregational Church, Barbara was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be sadly missed.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Ceremony on Saturday, September 19 at Centre Congregational Church, 6 Summer Street, Lynnfield at 10:30 a.m.
