WAKEFIELD — Barbara P. Smith, 88, of Wakefield died on Nov. 26, 2014. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, April 11, at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 5 Bryant St., with a reception at the church following the service.Barbara was the wife of the late Thomas C. Smith.
She was the mother of the late Karen Smith Stanford. She is survived by her daughter, Janet M. Smith and her husband, R. Robert Woodburn Jr., of Wellesley; her son-in-law, John P. Stanford of Santa Fe, N.M., and numerous nieces and nephews.
She graduated from high school in South Portland, Maine in 1943. A graduate of Simmons College, Class of 1947, Barbara taught kindergarten in Lunenburg, North Reading and Wakefield.
She lived in Wakefield for 56 years and was a member of Bear Hill Golf Club since 1958.
