Former real estate agent for Christopher J. Barrett, enjoyed square dancing
WAKEFIELD — Beatrice H. Rose, 86, of Wakefield and formerly of Reading, died Tuesday, Dec. 30 surrounded by family.
Born in Cambridge on April 13, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Jose P. and Helen V. (Brilliante) Monteiro.
Mrs. Rose was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1946, and later attended the Kathleen Dell Secretarial School in Boston. She had been a longtime Reading resident before making her home in Wakefield where she was a member of St. Joseph Church. Mrs. Rose had worked as a teller at the Old Colony Bank and later worked as a Real Estate Agent for Christopher J. Barrett Realtors. She had been a member of the Cosmopolitan Square Dance Club for many years.
Mrs. Rose was the wife of the late Anthony C. Rose Jr. She is survived by her children Deborah Amato and her husband Kenneth of Chelmsford; Michael Rose of Copenhagen, Denmark; Pamela Rose of Wakefield and Jeannine Hardy of North Andover. She is also survived by nine grandchildren Joseph Amato and his wife Kim, Eric, and Camille Amato; Carabeth Connolly and her husband Johannes; Daniel Connolly and his wife Vidhya and Patrick Connolly and his wife Jackie, and Adam, Amanda and Ian Hardy, as well as two great-grandchildren Eyvindur and Travis. She was the sister of the late Arnold J. Monteiro.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St. at 11:30 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
