WAKEFIELD — Police stopped a Billerica man at the intersection of Main and Church streets yesterday at about 4 p.m. on a red light violation and while speaking with the driver a small bag of what was believed to be heroin was located.

The street value of the drug was estimated at $40.

Police then arrested the driver, Evan Guy Wattles, 26, 4 Charme Rd., Billerica, on a charge of possession of a Class A drug.

Wattles was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.

He was arraigned today in Malden District Court.

Police responded to a three-car collision yesterday at 4:20 p.m. on Main Street. The vehicles involved were a green 2010 Toyota Rav 4, a gray 2010 Toyota Corolla and a gray 2011 Toyota Corolla.

No one was injured in the crash, said police.

In other police business:

• A fight on an MBTA train was reported at about 11 p.m. The incident took place at the North Avenue and Albion Street intersection. About 15 minutes later, a caller reported that youths were being loud at a bus stop on Main Street.

• A caller reported that a deer was in the roadway on Water Street near the Saugus line. Police responded and found the deer dead on the side of the road. The Department of Public Works was notified for removal.
