WAKEFIELD — The weather on Saturday night, April 29, was nearly perfect for celebrating the 10th anniversary of the adults-only annual Blossoms at the Beebe fundraiser.

As in years past, the event was held at the Lucius Beebe Memorial Library on Main Street and benefited both the Library and Wakefield Lynnfield Chamber of Commerce.

The sold-out fundraiser drew people from Wakefield and surrounding cities and towns.

This year’s theme was “Bling” and there was plenty of it — from women’s sparkly dresses, shoes and jewelry to men’s sequined jackets. Wine and cocktails as well as music provided by North Ave. Band and Betty’s Bounce lent the event a festive flair along with gorgeous and elaborate floral arrangements by SweetBay.

Laurie’s 9:09 Catering and Early Harvest offered food to guests, including hors d’oeuvres and beef tenderloin at carving stations. There were also games of chance, including roulette, blackjack and craps, and a silent auction featuring vacations, entertainment, apparel, home accessories and salon and spa products.

Fundraiser proceeds support services at the Beebe Library, cultural events and many Chamber of Commerce projects that enhance the civic and economic life of Wakefield.

Major sponsors were The Savings Bank, Bright View Senior Living, Wakefield Co-operative Bank, Hobbs Brook Management LLC, First Financial Trust, Hallmark Health System and Lahey Health.
