NORTH READING — The North Reading Boys Spring Track team started off their season with two big wins over Masco and Lynnfield on April 13. The Hornets defeated Masco 98–47 and won big over Lynnfield 114–31. The team was led by Junior Antonio Catino who won the High Jump (5’4”) and 110 Hurdles (16.3) against both teams and also picked off a third place against Lynnfield in the Triple Jump for a grand total of 21 points.
Other overall event winners for the Hornets included Junior Bob O’Donnell in the Shot Put (43’ 11 ¾”), Junior Zach Robarts in the Triple Jump (38’ 7 ¼”), Junior Vitaliy Andrusyshyn in the Discus (107’10”), Senior Captain Brendan Carter in the 2 Mile (10:34.9),
Also, Senior Ben Hui in the 400 (54.2), Senior Captain Nick Copelas in the 200 (24.0) and the 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams of Seniors Angelo DiSanto, Copelas, Captain Jackson Hastings and Junior Matt McCarthy (46.1) and Seniors Justin Bruzzese, Peter Audier and Juniors Cam Davis and Tom Helms respectively (3:42.0)
Next up for the Hornets will be Amesbury and Triton on Wednesday April 27th.
