Mariano-obit-webWAKEFIELD — Brenda J. Mariano, 73, of Wakefield died Sunday, June 21, at the EPOCH Center in Melrose.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 28, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lillian (Fuller) Hoffman. She learned to hula dance in Hawaii and maintained her “Aloha” spirit and beautiful smile throughout her life.
Mrs. Mariano was a graduate of Eastham High School and Tufts Dental School. She had been a Wakefield resident for the past 25 years and also spent 10 of her former years as a resident of Winchester where she raised her family.
Mrs. Mariano was the wife of the late Frank Mariano. She was the loving mother of Donna E. Marcou and her husband Lewis of Falmouth, Karen L. Schmal and her husband John (Jack) of Wakefield and Jeff Walsh of Brockton. She was the former wife of James J. Walsh of Norton, with whom she had her children. She was the sister of Connie and her husband John Kopas of Yarmouth, Rita Dyal of Gorham, N.H., Shirlee Hoffman of Yarmouth and the late Richard Hoffman. Grandmother of David, Carolyn, Jessica, Samantha, Alysandra, Trisha and Jessica. Also survived by seven great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be private.
