A LOCAL WOMAN faces multiple motor vehicle charges after an accident that sent her car up onto the sidewalk in front of The Savings Bank.

WAKEFIELD — A 30-year-old Wakefield woman will be summonsed to court on multiple motor vehicle charges after an accident in the Square last night caused one car to crash into The Savings Bank and come to rest on the sidewalk in front of the bank’s main entrance.
Police determined that a 2015 Hyundai was traveling south on Main Street when a 2008 KIA Spectra came out of Centre Street heading across Main Street toward Chestnut Street. The cars collided, causing the KIA to spin up onto the sidewalk and hit the bank building.
The driver of the KIA faces charges of failing to stop at a “Stop” sign as well as driving on a suspended license and failure to notify the Registry of Motor Vehicles of a change of address.
The Building Inspector was called to check on The Savings Bank building for any structural damage. There were no injuries.
