Longtime Wakefield resident

WAKEFIELD — Carol A. (Bianchino) Palmieri, 76, of Wakefield passed away peacefully at her home on Monday evening, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Somerville, Carol was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Catherine (Carangelo) Bianchino.
Carol was a Wakefield resident for many years and was devoted to her family. She was a generous and caring woman who was a kind and thoughtful friend to many.
Although she worked part-time, she was happiest with her family and being a loving Nonni.
The beloved wife of the late Robert R. Palmieri, she was a devoted mother to Karen Porter and her partner Sherri Earley of Wakefield and the late Robert J. Palmieri. She was a devoted mother-in-law of Jackie Mitrano and her husband Salvatore of Wakefield. She leaves her loving grandchildren: Catherine Porter of Stoneham, Christopher Porter and his wife Beth of Wakefield, Cory Porter of Stoneham, Bobby and Dan Palmieri of Wakefield as well as her loving great-granddaughter, Isabel Porter. She is predeceased by her sisters, Marie DeYoung and Phyllis DiPerna.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, March 10, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield, at 10 a.m.
Services will conclude with burial at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family on Thursday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
