LYNNFIELD — The holiday spirit was on full display at the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 1, as 1,000 people gathered on the Town Common to celebrate the most wonderful time of year.

Selectmen eye legislative changes to LCWD

LYNNFIELD — Expressing no confidence in the commissioners of the Lynnfield Center Water District (LCWD), the Board of Selectmen authorized Town Counsel Tom Mullen to craft proposed legislation that would amend the district’s enabling act during Monday’s meeting.

LCWD special district meeting at LMS Monday

LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield Center Water District will be holding a special district meeting on Monday, Dec. 10, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Lynnfield Middle School cafeteria.

LYNNFIELD — The annual Lynnfield Middle School Holiday Concert will be held Wednesday, December 5 at 7 p.m. in the LMS Auditorium.

The concert will feature performances by the bands and choruses of Lynnfield Middle School as well as the Jazz Band, Pioneer Singers and Offbeat Beats and Techno Tunes

Taxes going up

That’s all it took for the Board of Selectmen to unanimously approve a shift in the town’s tax classification on Monday. The unanimous vote will raise the average single-family homeowner’s property tax bill around $160.

Sandy Hook mom urges large crowd to ‘choose love’

LYNNFIELD — Scarlett Lewis brought a powerful message to the large crowd at St. Maria Goretti Parish on Nov. 18.

That message was “choose love.”

Lewis was the mother of 6-year-old Jesse, who was one of 20 first graders and six educators who were murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary
