Girls’ X-country stings Manchester-Essex

LYNNFIELD — The cross-country teams cruised past Manchester-Essex, but were clipped by Newburyport during a tri-meet on Oct. 16.

The girls’ team (1-6) earned its first victory of the season after defeating Manchester-Essex 19-42. The girls’ team fell 15-48 to Newburyport. The lowest score in cross-country wins.

Lynnfield ties strong Pentucket team 1-1

WEST NEWBURY — Last Friday afternoon, the Lynnfield High boys soccer team tied host Pentucket 1-1. With that result, the Pioneers record went to 9-7-1 overall and 7-7-1 in the Cape Ann League.

Todd Angilly tapped as Boston Bruins anthem singer

BOSTON — The Boston Bruins announced that Lynnfield resident Todd Angilly has been selected as the team’s official anthem singer.

Angilly will become the first to hold the title since the retirement of Garden legend, Rene Rancourt, at the conclusion of the 2017-18 season.

“It’s a huge honor,” said Angilly in an interview with the Villager.
