PEABODY — Last Saturday afternoon, the Lynnfield High boys’ hockey team pulled away from Peabody, 5-1, at the McVann-O’Keefe Rink in a non-league game. Peabody was the designated home team for this game as McVann-O’Keefe is the home rink for both schools.

Black and Gold finish ninth in Pentucket Holiday Tournament

WEST NEWBURY — The Lynnfield-North Reading co-op wrestling team finished ninth in the Pentucket Holiday Tournament on Dec. 27.

The Black and Gold finished with 89 points in the 20-team tournament. Four grapplers placed during the tournament.

Captain Timmy Leggett finished first in the 132 lb. weight class

MELROSE — Last week, the Lynnfield boys’ basketball team dropped two games against Danvers and Melrose bringing their record to 1-4 on the early season.

Pioneers bounce back; beat Masco for first win

LYNNFIELD — Last week, the Lynnfield boys’ basketball team went 1-1 bringing their record to 1-2 on the season. Following a tough loss to Rockport on Tuesday 47-41, the Pioneers were able to bounce back on Friday picking up the season’s first victory blowing out Masco 59-37.

BOXFORD — Last Friday night, the Lynnfield High girls’ basketball team fell to mighty Masconomet, 58-28, on the road in Boxford. With the defeat, the Pioneers record dipped to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the Cape Ann League.

BOSTON — The boys’ and girls’ indoor track teams kicked their season off on Dec. 8 at the Reggie Lewis Center against Manchester-Essex. Both teams came away with victories featuring plenty of highlights.

WAKEFIELD — The Lynnfield-North Reading co-op wrestling team finished ninth out of 17 teams during the Anthony Lisitano Tournament at Wakefield Memorial High School on Dec. 15.
