MELROSE — The Melrose Education Foundation (MEF) invites the public to “Real Talk: Melrose Public Schools Budget” on Thursday, Feb. 28 from 7-9 p.m. in the Melrose High School Learning Commons.

This panel discussion is open to the community to talk about the current state of our schools and the budget

Devoted educator killed in Somerville

MELROSE — Former Lincoln School principal Allison Donovan, a professional educator her whole career, died last week after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Somerville. She was 40 years old.

MELROSE — Throughout February, Melrose residents are invited to give a special “valentine” to their neighbors by donating a jar of peanut butter or other currently dated canned good to A Servant’s Heart Food Pantry as part of the Peanut Butter Valentines city-wide food drive.

Pay raise, details helped police earn most in 2018

MELROSE — Thanks in part to a three-year, lump sum retroactive raise paycheck in June, 32 members of the Police Department were among the top 50 paid city employees in 2018.

Police also benefitted from tons of detail work that continues to be available to them around Melrose.
