Zwirko named top alderman

MELROSE — Michael Zwirko will lead the Board of Aldermen after all.

This week, his colleagues chose the third year alderman-at-large as aldermanic president for the coming year.

More police on 2017 top paid list

MELROSE — Several members of the city’s police force keep benefitting from the fact that road work in Melrose continues at a feverish pace.

Cultural Council awards 25 grants

MELROSE — The Melrose Cultural Council announces the award of 25 Local Cultural Council (LCC) grants totaling $9,400 for events and programs that will take place in Melrose during the 2018 calendar year. Thirty-six applications were submitted. The deadline for submission was October 15.
