McCullough finishes first in Cohasset Tournament

LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield-North Reading co-operative wrestling team finished fifth in the Cohasset Tournament on Jan. 5.

The Black and Gold concluded the tournament with 116 points. Two grapplers finished first during the tournament, and eight wrestlers placed.

Black and Gold finishes 9th in Pentucket Holiday Tournament

WEST NEWBURY — The Lynnfield-North Reading co-op wrestling team finished ninth in the Pentucket Holiday Tournament on Dec. 27.

The Black and Gold finished with 89 points in the 20-team tournament. Four grapplers placed during the tournament.

Hornets beat Winthrop, fall to Tigers in Pope John Holiday Tourney

EVERETT — The NRHS girls’ basketball team went 1-1 at the Pope John Holiday Tournament in Everett this past weekend. 

The Hornets beat Winthrop, 68-51 in the preliminary round on Dec. 27 to improve their record to 3-1. Sophomore Julia Howse had a monster game with 25 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots.
