WAKEFIELD — Charles Hurley, 79, of Wakefield, died on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the High Point House in Haverhill.

Born in Malden on March 4, 1939, he was the son of the late Daniel and Helen (McCarthy)
Hurley.

Mr. Hurley was a graduate of Malden Catholic. He had been a Wakefield resident for the past 47 years. Mr. Hurley was a retired bus driver for the MBTA and later became the Union delegate. He was active in the Wakefield Little League as a coach and was a member of the North Shore Antique Auto Club. Mr. Hurley was an avid golfer and enjoyed walking Lake Quannapowitt.

Loving father of Andy Hurley and his wife Lisa of Bedford, and Mark Hurley and his wife Terri of Wakefield. Brother of Margaret Kelley of Carlisle, Theresa Longo of Pompano Beach, Fla., Daniel Hurley of Tulsa, Okla., and the late Eleanor McMahon and Mary Craig. Also survived by his five grandchildren Amber, Aidan, Amanda, Anna, and Kayla.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 12 noon. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
