Johnson-obit-webSAUGUS — Christopher A. Johnson Jr., 23, passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on June 24.

He was born in Malden, raised in Saugus and attended Saugus High School. Mr. Johnson played Pop Warner football and for Saugus High School and also played baseball starting with T-ball all the way through the Saugus Babe Ruth League.

Chris was a lifelong resident of Saugus.

During his high school years he worked summers at the City of Woburn DPW, worked for a roofing company, at Herb Chambers in Burlington and as a laborer for Cam Demolition of Wilmington.

He enjoyed playing video games and loved to go freshwater and saltwater fishing.

He was the grandson of Raymond and Carol Ann (Monzione) Johnson of Saugus. He was the son of Christopher and Katherine Johnson. He was the brother of Casandra, Tia and Madison Johnson. He was the father of Aubrey White and Jayla Mistretta. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose, on Thursday, June 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Gately Funeral Home on Friday, July 1, at 10 a.m., followed by a burial at Riverside Cemetery in Saugus. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
