WAKEFIELD — Christopher D. Furrier, 49, a lifelong Wakefield resident, died Friday, Sept. 30 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.
Born in Melrose on April 22, 1967, he was the son of Elaine (Hayes) Furrier of Wakefield and the late John Michael Furrier.
Chris was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield Memorial High School, Class of 1985. He had worked for the former Hanson Box & Lumber before going to work for Moynihan Lumber, where he had worked for the past 15 years.
Chris loved the New England sports teams, music and animals; but above all, he was devoted to his son and his family.
Chris was the beloved husband of Sandra J. (Fairfield) Furrier and the loving father of Christopher Robert Furrier, both of Wakefield. He was the brother of Thomas Furrier and his wife Anne Marie and Michael Furrier and his wife Linda, all of North Reading, Greg Furrier and his wife Ann of Wakefield, Mark Furrier and his wife Mary of Stoneham, Anne Chilton and her husband Mark of New Hampshire and Matthew Furrier and his wife Julie of Wilmington. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at the Lakeside Cemetery, Beacon Street, Wakefield on Friday at 1 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
