THE MT. HOOD PARK ASSOCIATION of Melrose is sponsoring a free July 4th concert again this year.

MELROSE — The Recreation Department’s Fourth of July Celebration will take place on Tuesday at the Common. The all ages event is free. 

The event will take place from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Residents are invited to come join the Recreation Director for the Annual Bike and Carriage Parade around the Common. Youngsters should bring their decorated bike, wagon, carriage, scooter, skateboard, or other custom ride and take part in the festivities. Parade registration is no longer required. The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m., so be sure to arrive early. At the conclusion of the parade all youth participants will receive a ribbon. There will also be free face painting, games and activities.

Schedule of events

• Parade begins (10 a.m. sharp).

• 1Event festivities begin (face painting, music, games, activities, crafts and concessions) at 10:30 a.m.

The event ends at 12 p.m. The event will be canceled if it rains.
