WAKEFIELD — The Wakefield Civic League will be hosting its first public event on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Harrington’s Pub, 17 Water St., from 7 to 9 p.m. in the upstairs function room.

This free event is open to the public and will feature guest speaker Alison Simcox, an environmental engineer who will offer a talk on the water quality issues in Lake Quannapowitt and an overview of what remedies are being discussed and considered for our Lake. Questions and open discussion will take place after her presentation.

Appetizers will be served and a cash bar will be available. A framed print of the Floral Way by Wakefield artist Tom McGuire will be given away, with the winning name being drawn at the end of the evening.

The Wakefield Civic League is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization comprised of Wakefield residents who work together to make the town a better place to live and work. WCL strives to keep residents informed and involved in town issues while affecting public policy for a more transparent and resident- and business-friendly community.
