WAKEFIELD — Claire A. LaFrazia, 82, a lifelong Wakefield resident, died April 19, 2019 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
Born in Wakefield on July 15, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Edward M. and Mary E. (Bennett) Malonson.
Mrs. LaFrazia was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1954 and was a parishioner at St. Joseph Church. She had worked in the restaurant business for 40 years, including the Hazelwood, the Colonial, Woodside in Wilmington, and the Country Squire in Middleton. She had also worked as a home health aide for the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital and at LB Evans Shoe, Co.
She was the beloved wife of the late Pasquale LaFrazia. She was the loving mother of Laura McGrath and her husband Matthew of Everett, Denise Nealon and her husband Scott of Tewksbury, Andrea Sarro and her husband Joseph of Everett, and the late Frank LaFrazia. She was the sister of Charles Malonson and wife Pam of Calif., Christine M. Appleman and husband Harron of So. Salem, N.Y. and the late Paul Malonson and his surviving wife Sally of Wakefield. She was the cherished grandmother of Christopher, Patrick and his wife Julia, Kelley, Daniel, Charlie, and Andrew. She is also survived by four great- grandchildren and her nieces: Kim and Kathy Malonson and Paula Avallone.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-6 p.m.
