LYNNFIELD — The 57th Lynnfield High School commencement ceremony for the 160 members of the Class of 2016 will be held on Friday, June 3, beginning at 6 p.m.

The ceremony will take place at Lynnfield High School’s Pioneer Stadium for the second time since the LHS fields complex was completed in the fall of 2014. In the event of inclement weather, graduation will be held indoors at the high school gym.

Graduation was held outside last year and the Class of 2016 remains optimistic the trend will continue this year, as seniors bid farewell to their high school careers and step into the future.

Traditional music will be performance by the High School Concert Band, under the direction of LHS Band Tom Westmoreland. The Chamber Singers will perform the National Anthem under the direction of LHS Choral Director Doug Hodgkins.

Student Council President Kiley Choi will give the Welcome Address and High School Principal Bob Cleary will give opening remarks. Meryl Braconnier will give the Valedictory Address. Senior Class President Renee DelNegro and Superintendent of Schools Jane Tremblay will provide additional remarks.

The senior class gift will be presented by DelNegro and will be accepted by Class of 2017 President Lilli Patterson. The LHS Concert Band, Senior Chorus and Chamber Singers will perform a cover of “Sweet Victory” by David Glen Eisley.

After the musical performance concludes, School Committee Chairman Timothy Doyle will present the graduates their diplomas. Cleary will provide closing remarks at the end of the ceremony.
