WAKEFIELD — Family, friends and other well-wishers will watch as the Class of 2018 says goodbye to Wakefield Memorial High tomorrow morning in the Charbonneau Field House.

From Mikayla Alden to Robert Young, this year’s 256 graduates will celebrate the successful completion of their local education in the annual commencement ceremony beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The Class of 2018 will enter the field house during the traditional processional “Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1” performed by the WMHS Band under the direction of Thomas Bankert.

Class Treasurer Catherine Constas will act as the event’s master of ceremonies.

Rylee Parent, president of the Student Council, will lead the salute to the flag.

“The Star Spangled Banner” will be performed by the high school’s Chamber Singers under the direction of Ana Morel.

Class President Kaia Carioli will welcome everyone to the graduation ceremony.

Thomas Markham will offer greetings on behalf of the School Committee.

Dr. Kimberly J. Smith will give her final welcome address, since she is retiring.

Richard G. Metropolis will give his final welcome address as well.

“A Million Dreams” will be performed by the Chamber Singers.

Essayist Matthew Blois will deliver his address, followed by Class Salutatorian Anna McCormack and Valdedictorian Christopher Bossi.

The passing of the school key will be performed by Vice President Talia Gebhard and Class of 2019 President Carter Margolis.

The presentation of the class banner will be done by artist Mary Tannian and Class Secretary Domenic McArthur.

Metropolis, Markham, Kaia Carioli and Talia Gebhard will present diplomas to the graduating class.

The ceremony will end with “Fanfare and Recessional” performed by the high school band.
