World War II army sergeant worked for Travelers Insurance

Sullivanobit-webLYNNFIELD — Cornelius G. Sullivan, 92, of Lynnfield and formerly of Mission Hill, died February 22, 2017 in Reading.

He was born in Boston on June 18, 1924, and was the son of the late Cornelius J. and Ellen M. (McCourt) Sullivan. He was raised in Boston and was a graduate of Mission High School of Boston and later graduated from Boston College, Class of 1948.

Mr. Sullivan served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943-1946. He retired as a Personnel Manager from the Travelers Insurance Company after 39 years of service. He had been a member of the Mohawk Athletic Club of Mission Hill.

Mr. Sullivan was the husband of the late Adele F. (Gannon) Sullivan and Rosemary (Casey) Sullivan. He is survived by his daughter, Rosanne S. Murphy of Lynnfield and his three sons, Mark C. Sullivan of Florida, Bruce E. Sullivan of New Jersey and Paul J. Sullivan of Georgia. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
