WAKEFIELD — Daniel Donahue passed away peacefully on September 6, 2021.

He was born April 8, 1952, to June Donahue and the late Ernest Donahue and was a lifelong resident of Wakefield, MA, who was proud of his Greenwood roots.

A loyal family man, he married his high school sweetheart Barbie (Curran) and together they enjoyed a 47-year wonderful marriage. He leaves behind his son Chris Sao Pedro and husband Mike Sao Pedro, his daughter Jill Donahue, and his granddaughter Madison Chapman. He is survived by his mom June Donahue (Wakefield, MA), brother Steve and wife Sue Donahue (Stow, OH), brother Jimmy and wife Dauna Donahue (Peabody, MA), brother Scott and late wife Judy Donahue (Laconia, NH), sister Cindy and husband John Farley (Cape Neddick, ME), and brother Tom Donahue (Reading, MA). Additionally, he leaves behind his in-laws Maureen and Len Coughlin (Wakefield, MA), Patti and John Broderick (North Andover, MA), and Kathy and Don MacNeill (Wakefield, MA), in addition to many nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews and many cousins.

Dan always put family first and they all meant the world to him.

A graduate of Wakefield Memorial High School (Class of 1970), Dan was a varsity letterman in both football and basketball. He went on to earn a Criminal Justice degree from Northeastern University and an Accounting degree from Bentley College. He worked as a corporate level accountant for over 30 years to provide for his family and always gave 150 percent to everything he did.

His favorite pastime was traveling to Stowe, VT with his immediate family. He also enjoyed playing cards, golfing with his brothers, doing crosswords, and playing his weekly lottery numbers.

He is loved immensely by so many, will be remembered for his integrity and always doing the right thing, and will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace and now enjoy the company of those he loved that have passed before him. There will be no services per the wishes of the deceased.
