MELROSE — Ian Dolaher and Liam Rittenburg of Melrose recently participated in the Bay State Summer Games Track and Field competition which was held at Tufts University on July 18.

Ian is entering his senior year at Malden Catholic High School. Competing in the Scholastic Division, with competitors ranging in age from 14-18 years old, he finished first in the high jump with a jump of 5-10.

Ian also had a very successful spring season for MC varsity track and field, with a personal best high jump of 6-2 on April 29. This jump earned first place at a Catholic Conference meet and qualified him for the MIAA State Track and Field Championship, providing valuable competition experience in his junior year.

Liam, who will be a freshman at MHS in the fall, competed in the Junior Division. He had a strong showing on the day, tying for first in the 100 meter dash, finishing second in the long jump and placing third in the 200 meter dash.
