Physical therapist loved children
EASTHAMPTON — Dolly E. (Eisenhaure) Brooks, 84, passed away Sunday September 28, 2014 at her daughter’s home in Southampton. Born in Medford on January 9, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Florence (Scott) Eisenhaure. She was educated in North Reading schools and was a graduate of Boston Bouve College.
Dolly moved to Southampton in 1954 and resided in Easthampton since 1978. She was highly devoted to her career as a physical therapist for many years, concentrating on the rehabilitation of children. She had her own private practice and worked at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, for the Easter Seals, and the Greenfield Children’s’ Clinic. Dolly was an active member of the College Church in Northampton where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She loved children and was involved with the foster grandparent program.
Dolly is survived by her two daughters Susan Gates of Pownal, VT and Cynthia Peyman and her husband Steve Pikul of Southampton, her brother Paul Eisenhaure and his wife Kathie of Tewksbury, her four grandchildren Joshua, Jeremy and Kristen Peyman and Jesse Pikul, and her two great–grandsons Michael and Noah Salvini. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Philip and Kenny Eisenhaure and her sister Isabelle Eisenhaure.
Dolly’s funeral will be Friday, Oct. 3 at 5:30 p.m. at the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton. Burial will be private. Calling Hours will precede the funeral Friday from 4–5:30 p.m.
