Dolores was born and raised in Cambridge, Mass., the daughter of William Conomacos and Mary (Machado) Anderson. She worked at John Hancock Insurance Company where she met the love of her life, and they recently celebrated 55 beautiful years of marriage.

She enjoyed traveling and they shared many happy trips to Ireland, Italy, Hawaii and many other places. She was an avid Boston sports fan and loved to read and spend time near the ocean. Her greatest joy in life was being with her family and many friends. She was happiest when caring for others, and her enduring faith was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a long-time member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church in Melrose before moving to Murrells Inlet nine years ago.

In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Conomacos, and her sister, Dorothy Conomacos. She was the loving mother of Marybeth Johanson and her husband, Neil, of Murrells Inlet. She was the devoted grandmother of Neil Johanson and his wife, Dr. Dana Anholzer, of Randolph and Kelsey Huggins and her husband, Colby, of Georgetown. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth Bartolet of Ocala, Fla., and her sister-in-law, Margaret Hazeldine of Salem, N.H., as well as many nieces and nephews.

Her family received friends on October 1 at the Goldfinch Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet. A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 2 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Garden City.
