Music teacher and performer
WESTFORD – Donald S. Hill, age 65, a longtime resident of Westford, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. For 42 years, he was the beloved husband of Susan (Eck) Hill.
Donn was born April 20, 1949, the son of the late Frank and Janet (Fales) Hill. He graduated from North Reading High School in 1967 and University of Lowell with a Music Education degree in 1971.
Donn was a music teacher, performer, choral conductor, and pianist. An avid exerciser, he ran or walked several marathons to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber Cancer Institute. He was passionate about his family. He brought great joy to all who knew him through his music and keyboard artistry. Donn worked for Gervais Ford, Ayer, and the Bull Run Restaurant, Shirley.
Donn will be lovingly remembered by his spouse Susan, his brother Peter Hill and his wife Vicki of Wakefield, his sister, Nancy Selig and her husband Mark of North Reading; two sisters–in–law, Marcia Brolli of Sheffield, and Nancy Pelletier of Bar Harbor; his niece Sharon Trites of So. Lawrence, his niece Jill Pelletier and wife Erin Damon of Portland, nephew Jay Pelletier and wife Rachel of Bar Harbor, nephew Evan Pelletier of Bar Harbor, goddaughter Amy Larsen and husband Kevin of Los Angeles; three great nieces, Janna, Remy and Elsa, a great nephew, Owen, and many cousins in the Boston and Nova Scotia areas.
