Great–grandmother of 5 with local survivors

REVERE — Dorothea P. “Dot” (Sexton) Zarni of Revere, formerly of Chelsea, 85, passed away on Feb. 6 following a lengthy illness.
Born and raised in Chelsea, she attended Chelsea schools and was a 1948 graduate of Chelsea High School. “Dot” as she was affectionately known, worked as a salesperson for the former Stuart’s Discount Store of Malden before moving onto Host–Marriott at Terminal D, Logan Airport. She worked for over 20 years as a bartender, retiring at age 75 years, making many friendships over her long tenure of employment. “Dot” was a long–time supporter and member of the Immaculate Conception Parish Community.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred A. Zarni-aka-Zani. She was the devoted mother of Bernadette H. Moore, James A. Zarni and his wife Paula G. all of Revere, John A. Zarni and his wife Elizabeth of Chelsea and the late Richard N. and Robert F. Zarni. She was the cherished grandmother of Eric S.R. Moore of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., Jessica A. White and her husband Brian of Melrose, Katie E. Lombardi and her husband Carl of North Reading and Amanda E. Zarni of Chelsea. She is also lovingly survived by her five great–grandchildren, Erica T. Moore, Eric J. and Devon R. Moore, all of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., Jacob C. Lombardi of North Reading and Jaxson T. White of Melrose.
Family and friends attended visiting hours on Saturday, Feb. 13 in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107), Revere, Her funeral was conducted from the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
