PEABODY — Dorothy G. (Dotty) Donnelly, 93, of Peabody, formerly of Wakefield and Andover died on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Wingate of Reading Nursing Center.

Born in Revere on July 2, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Frank E. and Geraldine A. (Lockwood) Gurry.

Dorothy was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1942; served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II; and was a retired Reservation Agent for Delta Airlines. She enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Karen Wilburn of Chelsea, JoAnne Trayers of Andover, James A. Donnelly III of Reading and Richard E. Donnelly and his wife Pamela of Wakefield. She is also survived by her four grandchildren; Christy Juckett, Michael Trayers, Krista Donnelly, Kayla Donnelly and her great- granddaughter Hannah Juckett. She was predeceased by her grandson Kerry Donnelly and her two brothers; Edward E. Gurry and Robert Gurry.

She maintained her sharp wit, which she skillfully used to make a point or make one laugh. Dotty, you are remembered, loved, and will be sorely missed.  

Funeral services will be private.

Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home in Wakefield.
