MELROSE — E. Ellen (Sills) Robinson, 77, a resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Monday, Feb. 2.
Ellen was born in Ft. Wayne, Ind. on Feb. 11, 1937, one of two children of the late Ernest and Alta (Worthman) Sills. She was raised in Ft. Wayne, where she graduated from high school and settled to raise a family of two sons. She and her late husband George retired to Tampa, Fla. where they lived for several years, before she moved to Melrose in 2007.
Ellen worked in the accounting department of Kelly Girl in Ft. Wayne for many years. In her personal time, she loved being surrounded by her extended family and spent many holidays baking and cooking. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She and George enjoyed bowling and camping together. After moving to Melrose, Ellen found joy in being around the first and second grade students as a volunteer at the Lincoln School and St. Mary School.
Ellen was the beloved wife of the late George D. Robinson Sr., with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of George D. Robinson Jr. and his wife Gail of Melrose; and William E. Robinson and his wife Paula of Tampa, Fla. She was the dear sister of Leonard Sills of Charlotte, N.C. She was the cherished grandmother of Jeffrey E. Robinson and his wife Carine Corsaro of Melrose; Jessica J. Robinson of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; Cody Robinson of Tampa, Fla. and Travis Robinson of Tampa, Fla. Ellen is also survived by her dear and loving extended family from Indiana.
