WAKEFIELD — You are invited to an Easter Sunrise Service at 6 a.m. on March 27 to celebrate Christ’s resurrection. We will worship together through songs, Scripture and readings at Rabbit Island, which is right beside the Quannapowitt Yacht Club on Linda Road, which is by the blinking green light on North Avenue.

As the sun rises, the world around us seems to come alive and we can appreciate the beauty of creation. In this transition from darkness to light, we reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, embrace the joy of the resurrection and celebrate the new, full life he offers us.

This event is hosted by the First Baptist Church of Wakefield and will be followed by a breakfast at the church. The sunrise service is free and breakfast is $4 for adults and free for anybody under 12 years of age.

“We hope you’ll join with us on Easter morning and have a blessed Holy Week wherever you choose to worship,” said a spokesperson. For more information, visit
