LOWELL — Edward H. Wiley of Lowell, 75, died Feb. 23, 2016 in Lowell after a long period of failing health.

He was born in Melrose on Feb. 6, 1941 and was the beloved son of the late Arthur L. and Ruth E. (Ober) Wiley. Mr. Wiley was raised in Lynnfield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School and later from the New York Culinary Institute. He had worked for many years in the restaurant industry in New York and Vermont. He was an accomplished clarinet player and painter and had been a member of several orchestras during his lifetime. He was also an Eagle Scout and enjoyed the outdoors and camping.

He is survived by his son, Shannon Ira Wiley of N.C., his sister, Sarah E. Welsh of Lynnfield and his grandchildren, Alexander and Jared Wiley of N.C.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 7 at Forest Hill Cemetery, Forest Hill Avenue, Lynnfield at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home of Wakefield.
