LYNNFIELD — Edwin A. Ericson, 92, of Lynnfield died on Wednesday, May 18, at the Rosewood Nursing & Rehab Center in Peabody.
Born in Beverly on January 22, 1924, he was the son of the late Sven A. and Hilda (Markeson) Erickson.
Mr. Ericson was a graduate of Beverly High School, where he excelled in academics, baseball, and high school band and orchestra. He then went on to attend Tufts University where he received his BA in Electrical Engineering and later received his MBA in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
Mr. Ericson was a Lt. JG in the United States Navy, serving in the Pacific during World War II.
He had been a Lynnfield resident since 1950.
Mr. Ericson is survived by his wife Barbara (Gumb) Ericson; his two daughters: Joanne Howard and her husband Dr. Gary Howard of Yarmouth, ME and Dr. Judith Clyman and her husband Dr. Robert Clyman of North Caldwell, NJ; and his three sons: Rev. Stephen Ericson and his wife Shirley of Lebanon, PA, Peter Ericson of Gastonia, NC and Timothy Ericson and his wife Tracy of Kennebunk, ME. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Michael Howard and wife Erica of NYC, John Howard and wife Kristin of Somerville, MA, Jessica Howard of Oakland, CA, Meggan Howard and husband Daniel Mattar of Alameda, CA, Jeremy Clyman of MA, Noah Clyman of Brooklyn, NY, Michele Stern and husband Michael of Lancaster, PA, Annie Ericson and wife Jill of Northampton, MA, Liz Bhagat and husband Jatin of Hummelstown, PA, Sasha Ericson and husband Gildezio of Newburyport, MA, Stephanie Ericson of NH, Molly Ericson and Raine Ericson of Merrimac, MA, Jenna E. Powers and husband Matthew of MA, and Emily Ericson of Hyde Park, NY. He is also survived by his great grandchildren: Oliver and Francesca Howard, Madelyn Stern, Ravi and Ketna Bhagat, Julian, Cadence, and Jalin Ericson, and Mikah and Lyla Ericson.
A funeral service will be held in the West Church, 27 Johnson St., Peabody, on Thursday at 12 noon with a visitation for relatives and friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.
