Talented seamstress, enjoyed knitting, reading and traveling to Greece

LYNNFIELD — Efthymia G. Papadopoulos, 76, of Lynnfield, died peacefully on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of the late George Papadopoulos. She was born in Messinia, Greece and later moved to the U.S. with her husband.

Efthymia was a talented seamstress who enjoyed knitting, reading, gardening, and traveling to Greece. What she enjoyed the most was spending time with her family and friends. She was a devout Orthodox Christian.

She is survived by her daughter, Irene Duros and her husband Van of Lynnfield; and son James Papadopoulos of New York City, New York. She also leaves behind her two granddaughters, a brother, a sister, cousins and many nieces and nephews in Greece and Canada.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos St., Peabody. Burial will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are on Wednesday at St. Vasilios Church from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to her funeral at 11 a.m. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos Street, Peabody, MA 01960.
