MELROSE — Eileen F. Pedder, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 14, 2020. She was 94 years young.

Eileen was born in Enfield, England on November 5, 1925, daughter of the late Charles L. Percival and Frances (Napier) Percival. Raised and educated in London, England, she came to the United States on holiday, but never left. She became employee #13 at Fidelity Investments. Eileen was known in Melrose for driving around town in her red MG convertible with the top down so her two St. Bernard’s would fit. Eileen was truly one in a million.

An avid traveler throughout her life, Eileen traveled extensively, visiting every continent and a variety of diverse locales across the world. An intelligent woman, Eileen had a sharp wit, charmed every stranger encountered, and never had a bad word to say about anyone.

She was blessed to remain in her home through her final days with compassionate and kind caregivers who grew to love her. A special and unique lady, Eileen endeared herself to many friends, neighbors, and strangers. She was loved by everyone lucky enough to cross her path. As Eileen always said, “Bye for now” until we meet again.

Eileen is survived by several longtime caring and supportive neighbors and friends.
