Loved visiting Cape Cod
IPSWICH — Elaine Marie Gilbertson, 92 of Ipswich, formerly of Lynnfield, passed away on Sept. 21, 2024 at the Beverly Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Everett on May 18, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Judge Alfred Sartorelli and the late Maria (Pascarelli) Sartorelli. Mrs. Gilbertson was raised in Chelsea and graduated from Colby Sawyer College. She also attended Boston University Law School. She was a longtime Lynnfield resident. She also loved Cape Cod and spending her summer days in Harwich Port.
She was the beloved wife of the late John R. Gilbertson. She was the loving mother of Matthew Gilbertson and his wife, Deborah, of Lynnfield; Carla Gilbertson and her husband, Gregory, of McLean, Virginia; Christina Gilbertson and her husband, Jon, of Ipswich; and the late John Gilbertson and his surviving wife, Karou, of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. She was the sister of the late Alfred and Phillip Sartorelli. Seven grandchildren also survive her.
Private funeral services are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association. To sign the guestbook, visit mcdonaldfs.com.
