READING – M. Elaine (Walsh) Piper, 81, of Reading, formerly of No. Reading & Campton, NH died March 17, 2017 at the Winchester Hospital. She was born on February 13, 1936 in Watertown, MA and was the daughter of the late William and Mildred (Whitehouse) Walsh. She was raised in Watertown and Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School and Burdett College of Boston. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Stone and Webster Engineering Company of Boston and retired in 1999. She later worked for Carpet Crafts of North Reading and was active in the North Reading senior center. She was the beloved mother of William J. Piper of No. Reading and Lisa E. Phillips and husband Peter of Londonderry, NH. She was the sister of David Walsh and wife Catherine of Millis. She was the loving grandmother of Andrew Phillips of NH. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, March 24 at Forest Glade Cemetery Lowell St. Wakefield at 1:30pm. Relatives and friends invited to attend.
