WAKEFIELD — Ethel A. (Hagen) Driscoll, 102, of Wakefield, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at her home, surrounded by loved ones. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Driscoll II, with whom she celebrated over 50 years of marriage.

Mrs. Driscoll was born Dec. 22, 1912 in Malden. She was the daughter of the late Arne and Christine Hagen.

Raised in Malden, she was a graduate of Malden High School and went on to work at Carr Fastener, where she was employed for many years prior to retirement.

The Driscolls moved to Wakefield in 1958 where Mrs. Driscoll remained until her death. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and her home was always filled with visitors. She was affectionately known to many as “Nana D.”

Mrs. Driscoll is survived by her son Edward J. Driscoll III and his wife Margaret of Glen, N.H.; two daughters Sandra C. Gadsby and her husband Thomas of Silver Bay, Minn. and Patricia A. Ward of Wakefield; a daughter-in-law Joan Driscoll of Lynnfield and sister-in-law Teresa McDonald of Beverly. She was predeceased by her son Robert A. Driscoll. Mrs. Driscoll is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Florence Parish, 47 Butler Ave. Visiting hours will be held prior from 9 to 11 a.m., at McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. Burial at Forest Glade Cemetery, Lowell Street, Wakefield.
