LYNNFIELD — It was a New Year’s Eve to remember for five Lynnfield families.

The Littlefield, Serra, Kloack, Rozopoulos and Cavallo families rang in the New Year at the iconic Times Square in New York. The Graziani family from Middleton also attended the trip.

While celebrating the beginning of 2023, Charing Cross resident Karen Littlefield said a producer for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” asked the six families if they wanted to celebrate on live TV with host Ryan Seacrest.

“We ended up staying until 12:30 a.m.,” said Littlefield. “Ryan’s producer came up to our group and asked if we wanted to be on live TV with Ryan. He was very engaging and friendly to everybody. Ryan has a lot of good energy. We also met TikTok influencer Liza Koshy, who was co-hosting with Ryan.”

The six families’ children were jumping up and down while appearing on the broadcast.

“Happy New Year kids,” said Seacrest.

Littlefield said celebrating New Year’s Eve at Times Square was amazing.

“It was an incredible experience,” said Littlefield. “It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to be in Times Square right up front for the ball drop.”

Littlefield said the six families have always dreamed about celebrating New Year’s in The Big Apple.

“Our families have been talking about celebrating New Year’s Eve in New York City for the past few years, but we weren’t able to go because of COVID,” said Littlefield. “We decided to give it a shot this year.”

Littlefield recalled that the six families took a bus to and from New York. She said the families left Massachusetts on Dec. 30 and returned home on New Year’s Day.

“This was a once in a lifetime opportunity,” said Littlefield. “We all had so much fun, and everybody was so excited to be in New York City to ring in the new year. We made most of the weekend. We saw The Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall on Friday night. A really fun part of the weekend was getting a ride on the rickshaw from Radio City Music Hall to our hotel at the InterContinental. They took us right through Times Square. We spent the day in the city on Saturday. We hit a few of the popular stores, made a stop at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, skated at Bryant Park and strolled by Rockefeller Center and saw the tree. The Ryan Seacrest appearance elevated everything to another level.”
