Warriors beat Burlington 60-40

BOSTON — The girls’ track and field team kicked off the season with a convincing 60-40 win over Burlington on Thursday. There were plenty of individual highlights to go along with that win.

The top performer of the meet was Olivia Fetherston as she won the high jump with a personal best jump of 5’4” tying the school record set by Karen LaSaffre in 1988. Fetherston had the top high jump in the league and also won the long jump with a leap of 15’6” (2nd in the Middlesex League).

Fetherston led a sweep of the high jump with Adriana Minasian (4’8”) and freshman Kaylee Lamberti (4’6”) placing 2nd and 3rd against Burlington.

Joining Fetherston in the long jump were Caroline Herzog (13’1) and freshman Jade Roycroft (11’9”).

Eadeen Beck won the shot put with a throw of 34’5” (2nd in the Middlesex League). Claire Curry was 3rd (26’10.5). Lily Camille Cullen had a personal best of 24’.

In the hurdles, Herzog was 2nd in 11.19 while Fetherston was 3rd in 11.20.

In the 55 meter dash Ava Vaughan got the win in 7.95. Minasian was 3rd in 8.29. Roycroft ran an 8.32 in her first meet.

Olivia Lucey was tops in the mile as she ran a very smart and patient race and showed a killer kick to finish in 5:33 for the top time in the league. Retta Carroll was 2nd in 6:04. Freshman Sammy Seabury was 3rd in a great debut of 6:05.

In the 600 meters, Elina Olmedo (1:59), Jenny Summers (2:03), freshman Stephanie Curran (2:07) and freshman Lizzy Stevens (2:09) all ran a strong race.

In the 1000 meters, Isabella Kehoe was 2nd in 3:32. Sophomore Maggie Ritchie was 3rd in 3:41. Freshman Emma Partyka was right behind in 3:42.

Lillian Jones won the 300 meters in a time of 46.82. Katherine Kerrigan was 3rd in 51.65. Alexis Comeau ran the 300 in 53.66.

Celia Casale ran a great time for the JV 300 finishing in 46.81.

In the 2 mile Sophomore Shannon Driscoll ran a strong race for 2nd place in 13:06. Nicole Callandra was 3rd in 15:02.

The 4×200 relay team of Vaughan, Jones, Roycroft and Minasian won over Burlington in 1:57.

The 4×400 relay team of Lucey, Olmedo, Carroll and Kehoe ran 4:49.
