NORTH READING — Freshman Sean Fagen was outstanding in his varsity debut, erupting for 4 goals and 2 assists as the Hornets pounded the Danvers Falcons 13–0 in their season opener on Friday. Junior Jack Schille added 3 goals and seniors Brian Cotter and Cam Fagen chipped in with 2 goals apiece.

The game got off to a sloppy start in the first quarter with both teams looking a bit rusty. But North Reading was strong defensively and managed to score twice to take a 2–0 lead after one.

The Hornets got rolling in the second quarter and took firm control of the game. They dominated possession and scored four times. With two man-up goals in the final 1:30 of the quarter the halftime lead was 6-0.

North Reading continued to be in control in the second half. They scored four goals in the third quarter and were on cruise control in the fourth. The Hornets won easily 13–0.
