LYNNFIELD — The annual Freshmen Orientation for all incoming ninth grade students will be held at Lynnfield High School on Wednesday, Aug. 24 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

On this day, students will meet key staff members, visit their homeroom/lockers, participate in team building activities within their Compass group and enjoy a barbecue lunch.

This orientation will allow freshmen students the opportunity to navigate the building and follow their schedules prior to the first day of school on Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Only freshmen will report on Aug. 24, although all LHS Compass Student Advisors will facilitate the advisory sessions. The school’s Compass Student Advisors are a group of upperclassmen leaders who will help facilitate Compass groups and assist with various programs throughout the year. They will be wearing bright orange shirts and name tags as they welcome the incoming class.

“It is our hope that this orientation will further assist freshmen with the transition to the high school and provide a positive introduction for all students,” said Brian Bates, the new assistant principal at LHS. “We are excited about this program and confident it will be beneficial for all students. Feel free to contact us with any questions.”

The LHS main office number is 781-334-5820.
