MELROSE — The Annual Meeting of the Friends of the Melrose Public Library will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the meeting room on the lower level of the library.

All Friends of the Melrose Public Library and anyone who is interested in joining the Friends are invited to attend the meeting. Library Director Linda Gardener will discuss anticipated needs for the upcoming year; Friends Treasurer, Maria Spinale, will provide a financial overview of the Friends, and discuss Friends FUNdraising plans for the coming year.

In addition, elections for the Friends Executive Committee (Chairperson, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary) and for committee positions (membership, publicity) will be held during the meeting. It’s going to be a very exciting year for the Friends and for the Melrose Public Library, so they hope you can join them to learn and talk about what’s in store in 2016.

Refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome.

The Friends of Melrose Public Library, Inc. is a volunteer organization dedicated to the support of the Melrose Public Library. The purpose of the Friends is to promote the Library and to develop supplementary funding to assist in enhancing the patrons’ enjoyment of the Library. The organization provides extras outside the basic operating funds provided by the city.

Membership in the Friends is open to anyone interested in supporting the goals of the organization.
