LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield Board of Assessors, in accordance with guidelines set by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, has made available for public inspection the proposed preliminary values within the town for Fiscal Year 2017.

These proposed values have received preliminary certification by the Department of Revenue (DOR).

The proposed preliminary values will be available for taxpayers to review from Tuesday, Nov. 15 through Tuesday, Nov. 22 in the Assessor’s Office at Town Hall, 55 Summer St., during the following hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday: 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The real estate preliminary values will also be available on the Assessors page of the town website (https://town.lynnfield.ma.us).

The FY 2017 property assessments are determined from a market analysis of the calendar year 2015 real estate market with a statutory valuation date as of January 1, 2016. They are subject to final review by the Bureau of Local Assessment of the Department of Revenue.

Townspeople and taxpayers with questions may contact the Assessor’s office at 781-334-9450 during the public disclosure period to ask questions or review and discuss the proposed values with Raymond E. Boly, the town’s assessing manager.

According to Boly, accurate property information results in assessments that are fair and reasonable for all Lynnfield taxpayers. Those who discover an error in the data are asked to contact the Assessor’s office at 781-334-9450 during the public disclosure period to describe the discrepancy, to ask questions, to review or to discuss the proposed values.
