Garry-Montgomery-Obit-webNORTH READING – Garry E. Montgomery, 72, of North Reading and formerly of Waltham, died Wednesday, March 22, at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. Born in Cambridge on December 15, 1944. He was the son of the late Eugene C. and Jane (Mellor) Montgomery. He was raised and attended school in Waltham and was a graduate of Waltham High School. Garry was the owner of GM Construction Company in North Reading. He has been a resident of North Reading for the past 43 years and attended St. Theresa’s Church. He was the most kind person who offered nothing but love, he worshiped family and that meant anyone and everyone he accepted into his life. He had a heart bigger than the world and it was open to everyone. Garry loved carving, animals, lobster and gardening. Most of all he loved his family. Family members include his loving daughters, Kimberley Windt and Annette Burns-Latsha; late brothers, Wayne C. and Larry Montgomery; sisters, Sandra Montgomery Linnell, Gail Montgomery Bannon and the late Elizabeth Ann Montgomery and Janey Montgomery; grandchildren, Joseph and Andrew Burns and Kasey Windt; his long time companion, Leslie Ward and her grandchildren, C.J. and Maddi; many extended family members and friends, including Gerry Jackson Sprague and her family. His funeral will be held from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Monday, March 27 at 9:15 AM, followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter Street (Rt. 62), North Reading. Calling hours will be on Sunday, March 26 from 1 to 5 PM. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
