ObitDelRossi-webWAKEFIELD — George A. DelRossi Jr., 68, of Wakefield died Friday, Jan. 22 at the Tufts New England Medical Center.

Born in Winchester on July 19, 1947 he was the son of the late George A. DelRossi and Rita M. (Barrett) Rosati.

Mr. DelRossi was raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1966. He later entered the U.S. Army and served in Germany during the Vietnam War. He had worked for and retired from Voiceware, Inc. of Wakefield and had also been employed with TIE Communication. His career began with New England Telephone Company. Mr. DelRossi was an active member of Pack 712 Cub Scouts of Wakefield. He was a member of both St. Florence Church and the Holy Name Society. He had also been involved with the Wakefield Little League.

Mr. DelRossi was the beloved husband of Betsy F. (Croto) DelRossi with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Gregory F. DelRossi and his wife Marie of Melrose, Gary A. DelRossi and his wife Heather of New Jersey and Glenn W. DelRossi of Wakefield. He was the brother of Lisa Abramo and her husband Raymond of Ashburnham and the late Linda Littlefield. He was the adoring grandfather of Grace, Mary, Faith, Peter and Josephine. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
